I think Six Flags makes enough money and they can and SHOULD afford a shuttle for the employees, since there are no local buses from the day they open until the day they close. (Yes, I know they have an option to pay $10 each DAY, to ride a Peter Pan bus to work, starting sometime at the beginning of Summer)
Most businesses that serve food and beverages at least provide their employees with unlimited soft drinks, because it's so cheap to make. Six Flags only offers ice water, even if it's 101° and employees have to stand outside in the sun all day, sometimes 10/12 hour shifts.
I also think if an employee needs to use the restroom they shouldn't have to choose whether to wet their pants, wait hours for relief to come (yes, this has happened) or leave their post and lose their job.
Always fun. It is not the largest of the six flags paths but they have some good rides. They are definitely trying to make it fun and they try to keep it clean, if people were not such slobs it would be fine. Ride break downs are not usually a problem, at least I have not had many problems on my five trips over the summer. Season pass, when used appropriately, gets you so many perks most people don't take advantage of our use wrong. Wicked cyclone is an amazing ride and I expect it will be an award winner at some point soon.
I never knew all of this until I saw it first-hand, I'm so disappointed in this company.
I had my heart set on going to Six Flags Great Adventure for the annual Holiday in the Park. Unfortunately a snow storm the day before left the New Jersey park closed. Fortunately Six Flags New England had no problem opening so I drove out from from New York City. It was a great experience. The park was much cleaner and friendlier than the New Jersey park. I'll definitely be back!
Overall, I think the Six Flags Corp. itself are just crappie employers who can't think past their wallet.
No, I've never worked for them, just things I've seen and/or overheard PERSONALLY every single year, literally.
I don't like the way upper management treats the employees, I've heard/ witnessed some of them treating the employees very hostile for absolutely no reason at all.
Customer service and Management are rude. I rented an area in the Water park every time I went there. It took them three hours to remove the squatters. And The staff acted like I was the one that was wrong. The park was clean... but that is about all the good there is to it... I suggest other new England parks. There are many of them.
I think if employees are required to stay on the grounds for their lunch break, they should be required to pay these employees for that lunch break, just like every other business in Massachusetts.
Got season passes during the flash sale. I only give it three stars cause my four year old loves the place. I don't care for it cause the park is very dirty and staff don't try to keep it clean. Staff is some what friendly to guests though. Food selection is very slim and quality is very low. Just make sure your food is cooked cause they are known to push the food and it not be cooked. Rides were very nice that being the few child rides we went on.
I think if an employee is scheduled to work that day and they show up for work, being sent back home because of poor weather should not cost them, they should still earn that mandatory 3 hours worth of pay, which they do not.
